Collage and Painting Workshop with Suzanne Sbarge

$150.00

Collage & Painting Workshop with Suzanne Sbarge

Wednesday, September 23, 10am-4pm

Join Suzanne Sbarge for a hands-on artmaking workshop in the gallery. Collage is a liberating and adventurous way of working that is full of surprises, guided by intuition and the unconscious. Often associated with the Dada movement (born in Europe during World War I), collage has long been a means of disrupting logic and defying categories. In this spirit, we will get out of our heads and let touch and happenstance guide us in surprising ourselves and each other. Participants will use cut paper materials in combination with watercolors, working with new and old collage to open up new space in our art and minds.

Sbarge has gained a following for her collage and painting workshops. One of her recent students, Harsimrit Khalsa, said, “Suzanne’s workshop opened an artistic world I did not know existed. The process of observing, choosing, cutting, and arranging was meditative and absorbing in a way that made everything else fall away. She has a gift for guiding you toward your own creative instincts and creates an environment where you feel both guided and free.”

All levels are welcome.

FEE: $150, materials included, space is limited
