Suzanne Sbarge
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Suzanne Sbarge received a B.A. in Art History and Studio Arts from Barnard College in New York City and an M.A. in Art Education from the University of New Mexico. Since moving to Albuquerque, she became an important leader in the art world, founding 516 ARTS and serving as its executive director for nearly two decades, and gained recognition for connecting local artists with global conversations. In her own practice, Sbarge layers different media, combining painted and collaged elements to illustrate a vision of the world that is both contemporary and from the past, whimsical and otherworldly.
