Rain Blessings II is an abstract piece that represents a Hopi katsina. The Katsin’mana, or Katsina Maiden, is a well-known katsina that visits the Hopi mesas for summer or winter dances. She usually accompanies other katsina groups and uses her gourd and rasp to create the rhythm for the others to sing to.
