Join Gallery Hózhó at Hotel Chaco for the opening of George C de Baca’s exhibition The Holy Wretch on Saturday, July 17, 2021, from noon to 6:00 PM. C de Baca, whose family has been in the state since the sixteenth century, lived in northern New Mexico while he was young then moved to Missouri to complete his MFA. The artist returned to Albuquerque where he set up his studio to explore his inner conflicts and his ambivalence towards the cultural history of the Spanish in the state in his dense, bright oil paintings and fired ceramics.
