From Place To Place: Showcasing new works at Gallery Hózhó in Hotel Chaco

Join Gallery Hózhó at Hotel Chaco for From Place To Place featuring new works by Alex Peña. An enrolled member of the Comanche Nation in Oklahoma, his drawings, paintings, and prints explore cultural knowledge, interpersonal relationships, and the idea of beauty considered through different aesthetic expressions to suggest place and emotion. In his work, Peña uses a variety of lines, both mechanical and straight as well as calligraphic and curved, playing with color, width, repetition, or directionality. He relies heavily on process, allowing the media to dictate, refine, or enhance his statement. We are excited to be showcasing works by Alex Peña opening April 17, 2021, in the gallery and online, including a Zoom conversation between the artist and Gallery Hózhó’s Director, Suzanne Fricke, at 4:00 pm MT.
