Join us for an evening of art, conversation, and community as we celebrate the incredible talent of the Frye family of artists. This special event will take place at Gallery Hozho in the vibrant Sawmill District of Albuquerque, offering a unique opportunity to connect with artists and art enthusiasts alike.

Meet the Artists:

·       Jacob Thomas Frye: A fourth-generation potter and painter from Tesuque Pueblo, Jacob’s artistic journey began at just five years old. His work draws inspiration from traditional Tesque ceramics, the Sikyatki-style pottery of Hopi potter Nampeyo, and the matte black-on-polished black pottery of Maria Martinez from San Ildefonso Pueblo. Jacob also honors his great-grandfather, Thomas Vigil (“Pan Yo Pin”), through his use of watercolors.

·       Kelly Frye: A contemporary artist whose paintings and sculptures explore themes of healing and self-discovery. Kelly’s work reflects a deep connection to her Indigenous heritage, blending historical and personal narratives. She is passionate about working with diverse materials, including metals, welded steel, and clay.

·       Russell Frye: Raised on the Ramah-Navajo reservation near Gallup, NM, Russell discovered his passion for glass art while studying at the University of New Mexico in Taos and Fort Lewis College in Colorado. His work combines traditional influences with modern techniques, creating stunning pieces that reflect his unique perspective.
