To celebrate the debut of the Virgil Ortiz–designed hot air balloon for Albuquerque’s 2025 Balloon Fiesta, Gallery Hózhó at Hotel Chaco is thrilled to host a special afternoon with the artist on Saturday, November 22, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. This festive event brings together art, fashion, and community in honor of Ortiz’s groundbreaking creative vision.

Virgil Ortiz will be joined by his custom hat maker Chenoa Johnson, founder of Storm by Monticristi, to share the handcrafted hat they designed. The hat features a sculptural silver clasp paired with custom-designed silk scarves by Ortiz.

Guests are invited to explore a wide range of Ortiz’s work throughout the gallery, including ceramics, paintings, photography, apparel, and accessories. Limited-edition t-shirts, hoodies, and hats will be available, offering visitors the chance to collect unique pieces connected to the Balloon Fiesta debut.
